HOW WE STRENGTHEN AT INOCHI

PILATES is an exercise system that focuses on core strength, breath, flexibility and body awareness.

At INOCHI, we take this practice further by teaching the Pilates technique in accordance to proper biomechanics, rather than alignment alone. Each person will have specific focuses based on your intake, goals, and postural assessment. When taught in this way Pilates encourages health and longevity by lessening impact and increasing the effectiveness of every movement. In turn, your form becomes lean, strong and supple rather than rigid and bulky.

FLOOR BARRE teaches classical ballet principles on a mat or with use of Pilates equipment.

This work builds long lean muscles without the impact of being upright to help build the foundational technique of Ballet. Increase leg extension, epaulement (positioning of the head, neck and shoulders), and coordination. Floor Barre is a great compliment to Pilates and incorporates a ballet barre, the reformer and the trapeze table.

HIIT (high intensity interval training) challenges form through intervals of intensity and recovery.

At INOCHI we utilize this work to challenge form with intensity. This work often starts with a gentle warm up, some core integration work, and then intervals of high intensity movement repetitions followed by a recovery interval. This work is great for mindful awareness around the idea of attaining form, efficiency and mindfulness when working to maximum capacity.
